Katie Qiu, PT, DPT
DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
Katie received her bachelor’s degrees in health science in 2018 from Boston University. After graduation, she worked as a personal trainer as well as a teaching assistant and operations manager for a physical therapy continued-education startup in China where she found her interest in higher level sports physical therapy. She obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from High Point University, North Carolina in 2022. Following her passion on helping active population return to activity, she was accepted as an intern at Travis Air Force where she developed her orthopedic and primary skill sets such as dry needling, Maitland and Mulligan manual therapy, strength and conditioning, cupping, imaging consideration, and working with other disciplinary in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Katie continued her learning journey as an Orthopedic and Primary Care resident at VA Palo Alto to further develop skills in medical and acute pain management. During her residency, Katie was exposed to working with physicians’ side by side in urgent care and emergency department where she gained exponential knowledge in medical screening, differential diagnosis, as well as injury prognosis. During her time at Travis Air Force Base and the Veteran Affairs, she has seen patients from the age of 18 to the age of 100. Katie’s true passion is in providing skilled therapy to clients seeking to get back to an active lifestyle, regardless of age. She will be obtaining her Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialization in the coming year. On the side, Katie is an avid powerlifter, rock climber and snowboarder.
